9 ways to become more confident

READ TIME: 1.5 minutes

I’d love to share 9 ways you can become more confident, based on the book “You Are Awesome” by Neil Pasricha.

It’s not a Christian book but it does contain some great nuggets that will boost your confidence next to knowing and believing that you are a daughter or son of the Most High King!

Ready?
Let’s go.
1. Add a dot-dot-dot + “yet”
Examples:

I haven’t figured this out… yet.
I’m not a good entrepreneur…yet.

David wasn’t a good king… yet. God shaped him and helped him become one.

2. Shift the spotlight
Honestly, it’s not about you—this is also what Jesus said . You might think so, but it’s not. Don’t put yourself in the spotlight or think everyone does. Focus on what you are working for, who you are helping and what you want to accomplish for them.

3. See it as a step
Not everything works out the first time. It’s is a season. A phase. A step to what’s next.

4. Tell yourself a different story
Not “it’s all my fault,” “I’ll never get there,” but “this is a great opportunity to…”
Reframe.
Use a different lens to look at the situation.

5. Lose more to win more
Invest in failure. In things you want to try. You got to try and sometimes fail to gain. Do it for free for 10 years… and see the results.

6. Reveal to heal
Confess. Be real. It's going to be a relief.

7. Find small ponds
Put yourself in an industry/field/situation you feel comfortable in. When you start small, you will feel more secure and certain and thrive better. You will learn more and progress.

8. Go untouchable
Schedule days you can’t be reached—me-days. Get into your flow zone and do what nurtures your soul. This is especially important for creatives. If you don’t take me-days (or moments), next to time with God, your brain gets easily overwhelmed. You need time to think.

9. Never, never stop
Always see new opportunities. New ways. You can do it. It means you have to tweak sometimes, but it God calls you for something, never, ever stop.
Let these 9 tips sink in and discover what you needed to hear from these 9.

And voila, that’s all it takes.

Now, note that these are the basic steps. This is to help you get going and figure out if podcasting is something for you and your business. Once you get the hang of it, and like the results, you can professionalize your set, your artwork, your format, your podcast notes, etc.

To summarize:

Podcasting requires:

  • A topic that’s clear and solves the problems of your listeners

  • A USB microphone like Blue Yeti with relatively good sound

  • A laptop with audio editing software like Audacity

  • A hosting platform like Buzzsprout

  • Artwork made on Canva

If you have any questions about podcasting, please don’t hesitate to reach out. With more than 100 episodes up in the air, I’m sure I can help you. If not, I know others who do. Regardless, we’ll find the answers.
